2027 Volvo EX60 Beats Range Expectations with Official 330-Mile EPA Rating

Volvo is preparing to launch its newest midsize electric SUV in the United States, and the latest official figures outshine original estimates. Electrek reports that the 2027 Volvo EX60 P10 AWD has earned an official EPA certification of up to 330 miles of driving range on a single charge. This rating surpasses Volvo’s previous estimate of 322 miles, establishing the vehicle as the longest-range EV currently offered by the automaker.

Following initial customer deliveries in Sweden last week, Volvo is now scaling up global production. With U.S. deliveries expected to begin imminently, official ratings for other variants have also been outlined. The entry-level EX60 P6 delivers an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 307 miles. Wheel selection impacts total range: equipping either the P10 AWD or P6 with 22-inch tires drops their respective ratings to 312 miles and 295 miles. Looking ahead, Volvo stated that a range-topping EX60 P12 AWD variant will go on sale later this year with an estimated range of up to 400 miles.

As the debut vehicle built on Volvo’s new SPA3 platform, the automaker refers to the EX60 as a "game-changing SUV." The vehicle features an 800-volt electrical architecture designed for rapid charging sessions. The P10 AWD model supports a peak charging rate of 370 kW, allowing it to recover 165 miles of range in 10 minutes. The base P6 model peaks at 320 kW, adding up to 155 miles in 16 minutes. Additionally, the midsize SUV is Volvo's first vehicle equipped with a built-in NACS charge port, giving owners direct access to over 29,000 Tesla Superchargers without requiring an adapter.

In terms of dimensions, the EX60 measures 189.1 inches long, 81.4 inches wide, and 64.4 inches tall, set against a 116.9-inch wheelbase. Electrek notes these proportions put it roughly in line with the Tesla Model Y (188.8 inches long, 83.8 inches wide, and 63.4 inches tall).

Both P6 and P10 powertrains are available in Plus and Ultra trim levels. The entry EX60 P6 Plus includes a 15-inch OLED central display running Google Built-In with Gemini AI Assistant, Pilot Assist, a 21-speaker Bose audio setup, and Volvo’s Safe Space safety suit. Stepping up to the Ultra grade adds distinct badging, ventilated Nappa leather seating, a 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, a dimmable panoramic roof, and heated rear seats.

Volvo opened order books for the 2027 EX60 in May with prices starting at $58,400, while the EX60 P10 AWD starts at $60,750. According to Electrek, the SUV's ~$60,000 entry point undercuts several competitors, such as the 2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 ($64,380), Audi Q6 e-tron ($63,800), Rivian R1S ($76,990), Porsche Macan Electric ($80,300), and Mercedes EQS ($89,950). Volvo's website also lists a lease offer for the EX60 P6 Plus starting at $599 per month for 36 months, with $6,489 due at signing.
