Juiced Bikes Returns with the Custom-Engineered Scrambler E-Bike

Juiced Bikes, historically one of the most recognizable names in North American electric bikes, built a loyal following with powerful models that blurred the line between bicycles and mopeds. Following the brand's collapse in 2024, many assumed it would become little more than a nostalgic footnote. However, the brand is back under new ownership after being acquired by Lectric.

Now led by new leader Austin Gomes, the revived company is aiming to redefine what a legal, street-ready moped-style e-bike can be. The brand's new chapter begins with the Juiced Scrambler, an e-bike designed from the ground up rather than assembled from off-the-shelf catalog parts.

Designed From the Ground Up

Nearly everything on the Scrambler is custom, including the frame, battery covers, seat, handlebars, and suspension tuning. According to Gomes, Lectric's goal with the acquisition was to maintain the high-performance spirit of Juiced while adhering to modern regulations.

"We wanted to keep the vein of Juiced – a high-performance bike," Gomes told Electrek. "But now we’ve got more legislation around e-bikes, so we wanted to develop something that stays within Class 1, 2, and 3 while still being exciting to ride."

To accomplish this, the Scrambler utilizes a 750W-rated rear hub motor that delivers well over that in peak power along with significant torque. This allows the bike to launch hard from a stop and climb confidently while remaining compliant as a Class 2 or Class 3 e-bike depending on its configuration.

Rider-Focused Ergonomics and Engineering

Gomes brought his background as a competitive cyclist and dirt bike rider to the Scrambler's development. Elements such as the bottom bracket height, seat profile, and handlebar position were chosen to deliver a natural riding position whether cruising on pavement or standing on the pedals over rough terrain. Electrek noted that the bike maintains a pedalable bottom bracket position, avoiding the cramped ergonomics typical of many moto-style e-bikes.

The long bench seat offers room for two riders if needed and allows riders to shift their weight naturally. Stopping power is provided by Tektro Talon P4 quad-piston hydraulic disc brakes.

The Scrambler is offered in both hardtail and full-suspension variants. Juiced designed the full-suspension platform first—focusing heavily on suspension kinematics and handling—before adapting that geometry to the hardtail. Electrek reported that the full-suspension model was noticeably more composed over broken pavement, gravel paths, and rough trails while remaining planted on the street. The hardtail version features wide tires capable of hopping curbs.

Parental Controls and Safety Features

Beyond utilizing UL-certified electrical systems and undergoing frame testing, the Scrambler includes parental controls known as Speed Lock. Managed via a PIN code, Speed Lock allows parents or new riders to limit top speeds down to 10 mph (16 km/h) before gradually unlocking higher performance as the rider gains experience.

Pricing and Market Position

The hardtail Scrambler starts at $1,699, while the full-suspension version is priced at $1,899. Gomes emphasized the importance of the bike's bespoke design compared to other options on the market: "There’s a lot of e-bikes in the market these days that you look at and think, ‘That came straight from a catalog.’ These bikes were completely designed from the ground up."

With Lectric's business track record and Gomes' background in powersports and cycling, Juiced's new entry presents a fully custom, legally compliant option in the moped-style e-bike segment.
