Specialized Launches 41.4-Pound S-Works Turbo Levo R Ultralight LTD E-MTB

Specialized is pushing the lightweight e-MTB segment forward with the announcement of the new S-Works Turbo Levo R Ultralight LTD. The premium electric mountain bike weighs just 18.8 kg (41.4 lb) while maintaining the company’s latest full-power drive system, Electrek reports.

At 41.4 pounds, the new Levo R Ultralight is approximately five pounds lighter than the other models in Specialized’s recently launched Levo R lineup. According to Electrek, this places it among the lightest full-power electric mountain bikes currently on the market.

Full-Power Performance Specifications

Despite its lightweight construction, Specialized has not scaled back its performance metrics. The e-MTB features the company's new Turbo 3.1 S-Works motor, which generates 111 Nm of torque and up to 850 W of peak power.

The drive system is paired with a standard 600 Wh battery. For extended range, riders can choose a larger 840 Wh battery or attach an optional 280 Wh range extender. Specialized claims that configuring the bike with the highest-capacity option provides up to 4.4 hours of ride time.

To complement the powertrain, Specialized introduced a new 12-amp, 700-watt smart charger. The company states that this charger can replenish the optional 840 Wh battery from 0 to 80% in under an hour. The system also includes selectable charging modes, such as an 80% charge limit designed to prolong long-term battery life.

Frame and Hardware Setup

The bike is constructed around a new FACT 11m carbon frame designed specifically for cross-country trail riding. It provides 140 mm of front suspension travel, 130 mm of rear travel, adjustable geometry, and Specialized’s GENIE suspension technology. The company notes that this suspension design enhances traction and small-bump compliance while offering continued support deeper in the travel.
