2027 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N: Electric Performance Sedan Joins the N Brand

Hyundai's fun-focused N brand is growing with the addition of the 2027 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N. The distinctly styled electric sedan enters the high-performance realm as an all-new model, applying the celebrated formula of the Ioniq 5 N SUV to a more aerodynamic silhouette.

Platform and Powertrain Specifications

According to Car and Driver, the Ioniq 6 N is built on the E-GMP platform that underpins other high-performance Hyundai and Kia models, including the Ioniq 5 N and EV6 GT. The 5-passenger, 4-door sedan uses a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive electric powertrain.

The front permanent-magnet synchronous AC motor generates 235 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, while the rear motor generates 406 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Combined output normally stands at 601 horsepower, but an N Grin Boost feature temporarily raises total output to 641 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed through front and rear direct-drive transmissions.

energy is stored in an 84-kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack. Car and Driver reports that peak charging rates reach 10.9 kW on AC power and 238 kW on DC fast-charging.

Design and Interior Features

The 2027 Ioniq 6 N incorporates the standard Ioniq 6's 2026 refresh, featuring thin headlights and a streamlined façade. To differentiate the performance model, the exterior gains flared wheel arches, a wider stance, and a large rear wing. Dimensional specifications include a 116.7-inch wheelbase, an overall length of 194.3 inches, a width of 76.4 inches, and a height of 58.9 inches. Car and Driver estimates the curb weight at 4,650 pounds.

Inside, the N version shares its digital gauge cluster and touchscreen infotainment system setup with the standard model, alongside equally spacious rear seating. Unique interior additions include sports seats, an N-specific steering wheel, faux-suede trim, and special driver-centric N displays. The steering wheel features paddles to control the N e-Shift feature, which simulates physical gear shifts.

While official EPA figures have not been released, Car and Driver provides the following estimates and performance targets:
