2027 Maserati Grecale Brings Freshened Styling, New Base Trim, and Updated Tech

The 2027 Maserati Grecale arrives with a selection of targeted updates, bringing revised exterior styling, fresh interior touchpoints, and expanded technology to the Italian luxury brand’s compact crossover. Aimed directly at performance-minded buyers considering alternatives like the Audi SQ5 and Mercedes-AMG GLC-class, the latest Grecale updates enhance its position by offering distinctive curb appeal, exotic badge prestige, and strong turbocharged V-6 performance.

Updated Exterior and Interior Details

For the 2027 model year, Maserati has freshened the Grecale’s exterior with an updated front grille and bumper design. The lineup also gains two new wheel options available in 20-inch and 21-inch sizes.

Inside, the cabin retains its elegant, high-tech atmosphere with several notable revisions. The driver interacts with a revised steering wheel and a new push-button gear selector featuring real metal buttons. A new dashboard clock sits atop the dash, complementing a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch primary infotainment touchscreen, and a secondary 8.8-inch lower touchscreen.

The Google-based infotainment setup supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with voice commands via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. A Wi-Fi hotspot is available by subscription. High-end interior options include a head-up display, a three-zone climate control system, and a 21-speaker, 1285-watt Sonus Faber premium audio system.

In terms of practicality, the five-passenger crossover features a flat load floor behind its power-folding rear seats, providing 20 cubic feet of cargo space. In testing by Car and Driver, the cargo area accommodated eight carry-on suitcases behind the second row and 21 carry-ons with the rear seats folded down. Average-sized passengers find sufficient room in the second row, provided three adults do not sit across.

Expanded Lineup and Twin-Turbo V-6 Power

A new entry-level base model joins the lineup below the mid-range Modena trim for 2027. Pricing starts at $79,895 for the base Grecale V6, while the Modena V6 starts at $86,495. Every 2027 Grecale utilizes a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged DOHC 24-valve V-6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. In the base and Modena models, the V-6 produces 385 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The performance-focused Trofeo tunes that output up to 523 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque.

Car and Driver estimates zero-to-60-mph acceleration between 3.6 and 4.8 seconds across the lineup, with top speeds ranging from 162 to 177 mph. The Trofeo’s estimated 3.6-second 60-mph sprint puts it in the same performance territory as the now-discontinued Porsche Macan GTS, which achieved a 3.7-second time in Car and Driver track testing. Additionally, the Grecale offers higher towing capacity than competing SUVs from Audi and Mercedes-AMG. EPA fuel economy estimates stand at 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined.

Chassis Dynamics and Safety Equipment

Base and Modena trims come standard with a traditional steel spring suspension, while a height-adjustable air-spring suspension system is optional on those models and standard on the Trofeo. The air suspension offers distinct driving modes: GT mode delivers a pillowy soft ride, Sport mode provides forgiving comfort with confident athleticism, and the Trofeo-exclusive Corsa mode firms up the suspension significantly, resulting in an uncomfortable ride over rougher surfaces. Handling is spry and easy to exploit, though Car and Driver notes that steering feel is less lively than in the Macan GTS.

Standard safety features include frontal collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, and reverse automatic braking. For 2027, Maserati has added a parking assistance feature and a driver-attention monitor to the standard equipment list. The optional ADAS L2 package adds traffic-sign recognition, an intersection collision avoidance system, and adaptive cruise control with lane centering.
